Since receiving her M.Sc. in Marine Biology in 1997 from the University of Oslo, Torild Nissen-Lie has had a range of professional titles and roles at DNV, for example Head of section of Environmental impact, Risk assessment, Technology, and Preparedness, Group Leader for Environmental Risk and Preparedness, and Environmental Risk Practise Lead. Currently, Torild is a Senior Principal Consultant with focus on sustainability. In this role, she works on both strategic and operation level, assessing the broader climate and biodiversity risk picture and identifying opportunities in a low carbon and nature positive future. Torild provides management and key staff within offshore-, maritime-, and land-based industry with advice and capacity to handle challenges related to energy transition and sustainable operations.

Among other tasks, Torild has over the last five years been involved in green technology assessments for O&G projects, carbon footprint studies, scope 3 management, and biodiversity management. Her management responsibilities have included strategy and annual operating plans, business and employee development, service development and innovation, marketing, and financial results.

Furthermore, Torild has vast international experience. Having worked for more than two decades in an international company and collaborated with people in Norway, Europe, US, Brazil and Asia, Torild has colleagues all over the world. Also, Torild has strong technical skills when it comes to developing guidelines and best practices based on both national and international regulations and costumer needs.
