Silja Rán Steinberg Sigurðardóttir is currently working as a Developing Manager of Innovation and Analytics at RARIK, Iceland State Electricity. RARIK is one of Iceland’s bigger DSOs, widely spread across the country.  Silja holds a PhD in Engineering and is a former Senior Project Manager of Iceland’s National Regulatory Authority (NRA), with almost a decade of experience working for the NRA. Silja is also a member of the Professional Council for the Technology Development Fund at the Icelandic Center Research. The fund supports research and development activities, which aim towards innovation in the Icelandic industry. Driven by passion for innovation, economic regulation, the energy sector and policy making, energy infrastructure and in general complicated problems, Silja emphasis on meaningful and clear communication in her field of work.  Silja has also experience from the financial sector, and her expertise lies within economic regulation and policy, innovation, operation research methods, electricity grids, numerical and financial modelling, and data analysis.
